Giovanni Bedin was born in Vicenza, Italy in 1974 to a family of tailors where the young boy showed an interest in fashion before he could even read or write. His parents nevertheless encouraged him to get a degree in accounting, just in case… The five-year course turned out to be a clever balance between financial analysis, language learning and scrawling fashion sketches. Turning 19, his degree in hand, he set off for Paris in order to dedicate himself to his passion for style. A year’s course at the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture was just enough to perfect his sewing technique.
Then, for three seasons, he became an assistant to Karl Lagerfeld, “A
wonderful experience that taught me a lot in the way to work as well as
in the way to live.” After a short season for Thierry Mugler, he went on
to launch his own brand.
